Frequently Asked Questions

Below is a list of common queries about CLE and the services we offer. If your answer hasn’t been addressed by the FAQs, please contact us directly.

What is the Cancellation Policy?

A refund for cancellations will be accepted up to two weeks prior to the commencement of the course. A refund within two weeks will incur an administrative charge of $150 or a credit note can be issued (valid for 12 months). Cancellations from one business day before the commencement of the course will not be eligible for a refund or a credit note. A replacement delegate may attend in your stead, please notify us in advance.

When do I have to register?

We recommend registering as early as possible to avoid disappointment in case the seminar you're interested in is filled. Late registrations are accepted until the business day before the seminar. You will receive the confirmation of registration via email.

Can I pay on the day?

Payments should be finalised prior to the seminar.

Can I have invoices sent to me so that I can arrange payment?

Registering online and paying by credit card is the easier way to register. If your company requires an invoice for payments to be arranged, please email a completed registration form to cle@unsw.edu.au and we will create an invoice manually.

What is your postal address?

Our postal address is: CLE, Faculty of Law, UNSW Sydney NSW 2052.

Are papers available for past/future seminars?

Papers are available for more than 90% of our past/future seminars. We will send you a link to the papers in the email after the seminar.

What is the turnaround time for registration confirmation?

The vast majority of our registrations are processed within two days. It may be possible to register the day before a seminar depending on availability. We recommend registering early to avoid disappointment! You will receive confirmation of enrolment by email. Please ensure registration details are completed on the form.

How many CPD points is a seminar worth?

You get one CPD point per hour of attendance at a seminar, subtracting the morning tea and lunch breaks if applicable. You can round 45 minutes up to one hour. Most of our half-day seminars are worth 4 CPD points. For queries regarding CPD points please contact the NSW Law Society MCLE Officer on 9926 0333.

Can I obtain CPD points from buying a paper?

No. You have to attend the seminar in order to claim points, one unit for each hour of attendance. There are other ways to receive CLE points other than attending seminars including speaking at one of our seminars! If you would like to speak at one of our seminars, please let us know via Become or Recommend a Speaker.

Will I get CPD points for presenting a paper at a seminar?

Yes! This is a very effective way of obtaining CPD points and is a reputation building/maintaining exercise.
